Welcome to my home page!
I am Mrs. Esposito and I have taught here at LMS since 1994. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with a concentration in biology from Kent State University. I have a Masters in the Art of Teaching degree from Marygrove College. I spent my first ten years teaching 8th Grade Science and joined the 7A Team in 2004. In 2015, I started teaching Math and Science on the 7th Grade Navy Team.

Math and Science Daily Activities
Class Activities and Assignments can be viewed by looking at the CALENDAR TAB. Students are encouraged to check this link often. If a student is absent, checking this link will provide information about make-up work. Class notes and handouts can be accessed by using the CLASS NOTES TABS.
Math Notebook
Students are required to keep a Math notebook for Math class.
This notebook will include homework, notes, vocabulary, journal entries, etc.
Science Notebook
Students are required to keep a notebook for Science class. It should be a small 3-ring notebook. This notebook includes a Table of Contents that is updated as each new item is added. Notebooks may be graded each quarter. The current Table of Contents can be found by using the NOTEBOOK ORGANIZATION Tab. We will maintain a section of the notebook for each of the main units listed above.
Expectations
Students are required to come to class ready to participate and learn. What does this look like?
1. Students will arrive on time with required materials and be in assigned seats before the bell rings.
2. Students will be engaged in class by following directions and participating in discussions and activities.
3. Students will follow all safety rules including the lab safety rules that we learn in class.
4. Students will act and speak in a respectful manner to everyone.
5. Students will treat the school, classroom, learning materials, their own belongings and the belongings of others with care.
Rewards
Students will be rewarded with tickets for various positive behaviors or contributions. These tickets can be redeemed for various items or privileges. Students are responsible for keeping these tickets until they choose to redeem them. Click here for a list of Ticket Rewards.
Homework and Projects
Homework and projects are meant to be an extension of the classroom learning. Sometimes, the homework is practice and will be checked and graded for completion. Sometimes assignments and projects are meant to demonstrate and/or extend learning or understanding. These assignments will be graded for accuracy. Nonetheless, all work assigned is expected to be completed by the due date. Late work will result in a loss of points. Ten percent of the points are lost for each day that a graded assignment is late. Some smaller homework assignments that are checked for completion will not earn any point value if not completed on time.
Grades
Student grades are based on a point system that is converted to a percentage and assigned a letter grade based on the Louisville City Schools Board Policy on Grading. Current grades can be viewed on Parent Internet Viewer at any time with the proper access code for the student. In order for the grade to accurately reflect what a student knows and can do, most of the points are based on assessments such as tests, quizzes, performance on lab activities or projects, and products produced by the student. Completion and participation points are important to classroom success and comprise about 10% of the quarter grade.
Absence
Students returning from an absence are required to consult the website CALENDAR and Schoology Assignments to see the Daily Activities for both Math and Science. Students are responsible for completing any work that was missed. Be sure to get any missing notes from the website, turn in any assignments that were collected, get a copy of any handout that was distributed, complete any pages in the books that were assigned. All information is readily available, so excuses that you "didn't know" will not be accepted.
